Most In Need: Change a Life Today

03/25/2025 3:30pm

Your donation to our Most In Need Fund ensures that no patient is turned away, and continues to add value and impact to all of our healthcare projects, including work in emergency settings.

Just last year, 160,055 patients received medical treatment and 7,2264 people received nutrition support with a total of 233,027 lives changed thanks to your support to our projects, including the Most In Need fund. These costs are not limited to, but can include the below Zakat eligible projects.

Mother & Child Care in Gaza

More than 95% of pregnant and lactating women in Gaza are experiencing food insecurity and malnourishment.

We have partnered with the Gaza Infant Nutrition Alliance to provide:

  • Breastfeeding support via 10x lactation consultants placed across 3x hospitals inc. Nasser and Al Aqsa Hospital and 2x neonatal units.
  • Funding transport for mothers to visit their sick infants in the NICU
  • Nourishing food for new mothers
  • Education materials, training & career development for healthcare workers in Gaza

In total, 500 mothers are currently being supported by this work.

Palliative Care in Rwanda

Did you know that 86% of the world population do not have access to end-of-life care? Without the proper support, many patients die lonely and painful deaths, yet this is often preventable through palliative care initiatives.

We are working in Rwanda in collaboration with a community based palliative care organisation to help support the scale up and delivery of their work. This includes:

  • Supporting families with healthcare through a holistic approach, including medical insurance, transport, monthly food packages and educational support for dependent children
  • Providing financial support to employ qualified full-time nursing staff, including specialists.
  • Providing long term training to support 35 community based volunteer healthcare workers and medical personnel

Medical Care in Gaza

Right now, we are supporting a grassroots nonprofit organisation to run medical tents in the middle of the Gaza Strip (Deir Al-Balah, Al-Zawayda and Khan Younis). These support over 200 patients per day.

  • 3x medical tents offer medication, wound dressings, treatment of acute and chronic illnesses, and health education.
  • 1x mental health support tent ‘the Hope Clinic’ provides psychosocial support for patients and for children who have lost a family member.

Maternal Care in Malawi

In Malawi, approximately 70% of pregnant women face issues in accessing maternal health services. During our visit to Balaka, community members even told us stories about crossing crocodile infested rivers in order to reach a healthcare facility.

It only costs £75 to cover all costs for a pregnant mother up to and including labour, such as antenatal and postnatal appointments, transport costs and a safe birth with trained staff.

If you are currently observing Ramadan this month, visit our dedicated landing page, distribute your donations automatically over the last ten nights of the month (Zakat eligible), or donate your Zakat to our Most in Need fund today.
